Dancehall artiste Potential (formerly Potential Kidd) recalled that the moment he first laid eyes on Alethea Henry, he knew she was destined to be his wife.

He said that while he was immediately struck by her beauty, it was her voice that did the trick as they spoke one Sunday evening outside of the Christ Anglican Church in New Jersey.

"A pass mi a pass through because one of mi friends invite mi and mi go and see her then we start talk and thing," the 34-year-old Yah So Nice deejay told THE STAR.

The Trench Town-born deejay, given name Dwayne Taylor, has been married for a little over a month and says that he is loving it.

"Yea, a love at first sight because from mi see her mi just love how she put herself together and when wi start talk mi could a tell from that moment say she a go be mi wife. Every man love talk 'bout pretty and dis and dat, but when yuh have a real queen, true beauty comes from within. My wife is real down-to-earth and she loyal to me. She mek mi feel like a king cause she is a real girl!"

After dating for five months, Potential and Henry tied the knot in a private ceremony at a clerk's office in New Jersey. A more lavish reception was later organised for well-wishers of the newly-weds, who both believe that fate brought them together.

"Har son name Joshua, my son weh deh a England name Joshua. The father fi har son name Dwayne and a Dwayne mi name also," said the artiste.

"So it is weird. Maybe it's coincidence, maybe it is meant to be, but it is definitely interesting. It was the topic of discussion when we first met," said Alethea, attempting to put logic to their mystery.

The Taylors said that there are plans to start a family soon although both are currently focusing on their respective careers.

For Potential, a former student at Charlie Smith High School in Kingston, the focus is now back on his music.

"I feel very happy with her. I am very comfortable right now, so right yah now yah go hear mi kick up back like storm and just get mi a get miself together fi come back out fully," he said. He stands to get good support from his wife, who works as a sensory scientist for a major London-based pharmaceutical company in New Jersey.

"I am involved in his music. I have a role but won't say. But I give him all the support I can, full 100 per cent support," said Alethea.

She describes her husband as her everything, while also sharing with THE STAR that her family, particularly her mother who lives in Montego Bay, St James, are very happy for their union. She said that there is a difference between 'Potential' and 'Dwayne Taylor', as the latter is a gentleman.

"I don't know if he would want his other side to be revealed but he is a really nice guy. He is very funny, he is polite and just an overall gentleman. He is everything you could think of," she said. "It's been a month and l think that it is going great, I don't think this honeymoon phase will end any time soon ... perhaps for the next three years or so."
