McLeod to race without obstacles in post-Olympic debut
LAUSANNE, Switzerland:
New Olympic 110 metres hurdles champion, Omar McLeod, will double at today's Lausanne Diamond League. At a press conference held yesterday, at the Movenpick Hotel, McLeod made the revelation.
"Now the pressure is off me after winning the 110m hurdles. I will be having fun for the rest of the season as I will be testing my speed by competing in the 100 metres, so I will be doubling," said McLeod.
McLeod stated that his mishaps in two races including the Monaco Diamond League were a humbling experience for him ahead of the Olympic Games.
"Although I do not really like to talk about that, it really helped me as it showed me that anything can happen, and I used those experiences to motivate me," he said. McLeod stated that staying back to prepare with his personal coach instead of going to the Jamaica pre-Olympic camp was the best thing for him.
