Peru overpower Reggae Boyz 3-0
A dominant second half by Peru was Jamaica's downfall as they were beaten 3-0 in their international friendly at Estadio Nacional in Lima, Peru on Thursday evening.
Luis Iberico opened the scoring in the 48th minute while Alex Valera and Yoshimar Yotun added strikes in the 66 and 82nd minutes as the Paul Hall era began with a defeat. Hall was using the game as a means to evaluate players that could feature in the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Mexico, Panama and Costa Rica.
Jamaica only managed one shot on target in the entire game when Deshane Beckford forced a save from Peruvian goalkeeper Pedro Gallese. Meanwhile, Peru had 17 shots with seven of them on target.
The squad returns to Jamaica on Friday to continue its preparation for the home qualifier against Mexico on January 27.
