Skillibeng and Ayetian drop new dancehall anthem

International dancehall heavyweight Skillibeng has teamed up with fast-rising deejay Ayetian for a new collaboration titled Gih Yuh Some, a track jointly produced by YGF Productions and Crown Boss Records.

Producer Tevino Richards of YGF Productions said the release is intended to be more than just another dancehall single, describing it as a celebration of the genre’s cultural impact.

“The concept of this project is to celebrate dancehall as a powerful expression of Jamaican culture, identity, and creativity,” Richards said. “Through music, dance, drama, and storytelling, the production explores the genre’s influence on society while showcasing its energy, artistry, and cultural significance. Our aim is to entertain,” he added.

The collaboration also brings together two production houses that have each been making their mark on the local music scene. Crown Boss Records has recently delivered projects for artistes such as Jamal and Rajah Wild, while YGF Productions has built an extensive catalogue featuring names including Skillibeng, Valiant, Pablo YG, and Jahvillani.

Cleon Roseway, of Crown Boss Records, said combining the strengths of established artistes and producers gives the project a greater chance of making an impact.

“I am a firm believer in collaborative efforts in music because when two established artistes merge their resources and fanbase, the industry benefits significantly,” Roseway said.

He believes that the involvement of two experienced producers will strengthen the creative direction and overall quality of the track as their combined expertise and perspectives can help elevate the final product. He is confident that the collaboration has the potential to achieve major success both in Jamaica and on the international stage.
