Gun found in abandoned building

A team of officers assigned to the Savanna-la-Mar Police Division seized one firearm during a joint police/military operation on Ricketts Street in the parish on Saturday.

Reports are that lawmen were in the area when an abandoned building was searched. A Beretta 9mm pistol with magazine containing eleven 9mm rounds of ammunition was seen in a section of the dwelling.

No one was arrested in connection to the find.

Investigations continue.
